About this scholarship

Outstanding UBC Vancouver M.S.N. and Ph.D. students in the School of Nursing whose thesis is focused on patient-provider communication, such as shared decision-making, may be considered for this scholarship.

The award amount varies. Scholarships are funded through gifts from family and friends in memory of Jennifer Kryworuchko (1969-2019).

Recipients are recommended by the School of Nursing in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.

Dr. Kryworuchko (B.Sc.N., Ph.D., RN CNCC(C)) joined UBC in 2015 as an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. She was respected for her dedication to nursing practice, her talent in teaching, and her research to improve nursing care, especially palliative care access through shared decision-making between patients and health professionals.
