About this scholarship

Second-semester freshmen or sophomores at one of 12 New York City partner colleges may be nominated for the three-year Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship. Applicants must intend to major in liberal arts, have four semesters of full-time study remaining, be a U.S. citizen or green card holder, and be no older than 21 on the deadline.

The fellowship provides funded summer internships, a $2,000 Discovery Fund, seminars, and annual stipends of up to $7,500, $9,000, and $10,000 across the three years.

Campus nomination is required. The application includes three essays, two recommendations, a resume, and a transcript.
