Open to UBC Vancouver graduate students with excellent writing abilities who are well-read and have demonstrated interest in a broad range of journalistic topics.

Fellowships endowed by the family of James L. and Donald A. Duncan honour them and recognize their high regard for excellence and integrity in journalism.

Awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Journalism, Writing, and Media. There is no separate student application.
