Award amounts vary. Funding comes from an endowment established by family, friends, and the wider community in memory of James "Jim" E. Wing (1925-2022).

There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Jim Wing (B.Sc. 1954) began his pharmacy career in Dawson Creek, BC, and became one of the first Asian pharmacists in the province.
