About this scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate students of Polish ancestry who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, reside in the U.S., attend an accredited American college, maintain a 3.0+ GPA, and demonstrate financial need may apply through the Chicago Society Foundation.

One $10,000 scholarship and up to five $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually. High school seniors and prior Kulze recipients are ineligible.

Applications are due May 8.

  • At least one but no more than two confidential academic letters of reference on school/university letterhead, sent directly by professors
  • A current photo of the applicant suitable for publication on the website
  • Completed Financial Information Form (financial need is required), with FAFSA form and most recent Form 1098-T attached
  • Essays must be written entirely by the applicant with NO assistance from AI tools or automated writing technologies
  • Eligibility: U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of Polish ancestry, demonstrated financial need, minimum 3.0 GPA; high school seniors are NOT eligible (undergraduate/graduate/professional studen
