About this scholarship
First- or second-generation Jamaican-American female high school seniors graduating from a Florida high school who plan to attend a post-secondary institution may apply. You need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and at least 40 hours of community volunteer work.
The scholarship is valued at up to $5,000 over four years and helps cover tuition, books, and other college expenses.
Submit an 800 to 1,000 word essay on the influence of a Jamaican woman who inspires you, a transcript, proof of community service, two letters of recommendation, and a resume. The recipient is expected to attend the JWOF Annual Women Empowerment Conference.
