Masters or PhD students at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law specializing in international human rights law who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected/refugee status holders, or international students and demonstrate academic excellence.

The Jacques Gaudreau endowment was established in 1992 in memory of Jacques Gaudreau (1947-1989), an officer of the Department of External Affairs, by friends, colleagues, and family. It later became a graduate scholarship through the Human Rights Research and Education Centre.
