About this scholarship
Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students researching Canadian health economics, health services, or health policy may enter this annual essay competition. Essays must address at least one of the Canada Health Act principles rooted in Justice Emmett Hall's criteria: public administration, comprehensiveness, universality, portability, and accessibility.
Three prizes of $1,000 are awarded each year, one at each of the undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels.
Submit an essay through the Justice Emmett Hall Memorial Foundation competition. Details and the call for papers are posted on the Hall Foundation site.
The competition was renamed in 2015 to honour Dr. John (Jack) Boan's contributions to health economics and policy.
