J.R. Coutts International Experience Awards

University of Waterloo undergraduate students in any faculty who plan to participate in an approved international experience, including academic exchange, study abroad, work, or volunteer placements, are eligible. Applications are only considered for University-approved international travel.

Awards are valued at $1,500 each. Selection considers experience type, destination, financial need, academic success, extracurricular involvement, and motivation.

Complete the International Experience Award online application before departing. One general form covers most international experience awards unless a specific award requires a separate application.
