About this scholarship
Students in any faculty at UBC Vancouver enrolled in the UBC Farm Practicum in Sustainable Agriculture who demonstrate financial need may be considered. If no eligible practicum students are identified in a given year, the award may go to a student majoring in Sustainable Agriculture and Environment.
Variable awards are funded through an endowment established by Aletta Anne King (LL.B. 1980) in memory of her father, J. David King (1922-2013).
Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. There is no separate student application.
J. David King (B.Com. 1945, B.Sc. Agr. 1945) worked at the UBC Farm as a student and later served in economic development roles with BC Electric, BC Hydro, and the BC Harbours Board.
