Eligibility
About this scholarship
U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents who are high school seniors or community college students transferring to a four-year college in the fall, of African-American, Native American (including Alaskan and Hawaiian), or Hispanic/Latino heritage, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and who declare or intend a major in transportation engineering, planning, or a related field at an accredited college or university with an ITE Student Chapter, may apply for the ITE Diversity Scholars Program. Preference goes to first-generation and low-income students; Pell Grant-eligible applicants receive priority consideration.
One scholarship of up to $4,000 per year may support up to five years of undergraduate study and includes mentoring, internship opportunities, and ITE Student Chapter engagement. Recipients must maintain good academic standing and progress toward graduation.
Submit a personal statement (1 to 2 pages), transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Acknowledgement Report, and two letters of recommendation with the online, email, or mail application.
