About this scholarship
Illinois residents with financial need who attend approved Illinois colleges may receive an ISAC Monetary Award Program (MAP) grant. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, eligible noncitizens, or meet RISE Act criteria; enroll at least 3 credit hours per term; maintain satisfactory academic progress; not be in default on student loans or owe a grant refund; not already hold a bachelor's degree; and have remaining eligibility under the MAP Paid Credit Hours limit.
Award amounts vary each year based on funding and need. MAP funds may only be used for tuition and mandatory fees, and awards are limited to fall and spring terms (no summer). Grants do not need to be repaid.
Apply by filing the FAFSA (or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid if you are not eligible for federal aid), listing your Illinois school, and submitting required aid materials by school deadlines. Awards are first-come, first-served until appropriated funds are exhausted; a suspension date is often set early in the spring term after which no further awards are announced.
