About this scholarship
Senior women chemistry majors at accredited four-year colleges or universities may be nominated by faculty for Iota Sigma Pi's Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemistry. Membership in Iota Sigma Pi is not required.
The award includes $1,000, a certificate, and a one-year waiver of Iota Sigma Pi dues.
Faculty submit a nomination dossier by February 15 with a cover sheet, transcripts, a personal statement, and at least two confidential faculty recommendation letters. Only one nomination per department is permitted.
The award recognizes excellence in chemistry by a woman undergraduate student.

- Personal statement
- At least two confidential faculty recommendation letters
- Completed cover sheet (must provide candidate's permanent home address and school address)
- Academic history, including official transcript of the student's college record including the grade point average; include transcripts from all institutions attended
- A minimum of two letters of recommendation from faculty members who can speak to the candidate's studies and accomplishments in chemistry
- Nomination must be made by a faculty member; only one nomination per department
- Candidate must be a senior woman chemistry student at an accredited 4-year college/university
- Dossier submitted as a single PDF to the Director of Student Awards; deadline February 15
- A faculty member must submit the nomination dossier as a single PDF.
- Only one nomination per department is permitted.
- Iota Sigma Pi membership is not required.
