Ioan Davies Award

Outstanding MA and/or PhD students in York University's Graduate Program in Communication and Culture who demonstrate interest in topics reflected in Ioan Davies's work: critical cultural theory, communicative culture globally and in everyday life, technology and identity, and the culture of cities. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and Ontario residents.

The award is $630.

Professor Davies taught at York from 1972 until 2000 and helped establish African Studies, Social and Political Thought, and the Joint Graduate Program in Communication and Culture.
