About this scholarship

Up to two full-time PhD students in Toronto Metropolitan University's Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations status or non-status, Inuit, or Métis) or Black may receive the IBET Momentum Fellowship. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, meet FEAS PhD admission requirements, and have applied for Spring or Fall 2026 admission.

The fellowship is valued at $30,000 per year for up to four years ($25,000 IBET scholarship plus a $5,000 TMU supervisor contribution). Recipients also receive mentorship, networking, and professional development support. To keep the award for all four years, you must remain full-time in your FEAS doctoral program, maintain good academic standing, and submit annual progress reports.
