About this scholarship

U.S. residents who hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and are first-year, full-time graduate students pursuing a master's degree (or a first graduate degree toward a doctorate) may apply for the IEEE Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship.

The stipend is up to $24,000 for one year of full-time graduate study in electrical engineering at a U.S. engineering school of recognized standing. One award is given annually.

Complete the scholarship application, submit certified transcripts from all colleges attended, and obtain three letters of recommendation from professors familiar with your work. Applications open February 1 and close the first Monday after April 30.

Established in 1939 as a memorial to Charles LeGeyt Fortescue, the scholarship recognizes his contributions to electrical engineering.
