About this scholarship

Illinois juniors or seniors working on their first bachelor's degree who intend to teach mathematics in Illinois may apply for ICTM Scholarships in Mathematics Education. Eligible majors include mathematics education, mathematics with an education minor, and elementary or early childhood education. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

Up to three awards of $1,500 each are given annually. Recipients also receive a one-year ICTM membership, free registration to the annual ICTM conference, and a board mentor.

Submit the application through the ICTM Scholarship Submission Portal with two essays of 200 to 300 words each, a lesson planning form, transcripts from all colleges attended, two recommendations from mathematics or mathematics methods teachers, and verification of enrollment in a teacher education program.
