About this scholarship
Full-time LL.M. students with a concentration in Law and Technology at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law who hold a law degree (JD, LLL, LLB, or BCL) with an outstanding average are eligible. The fellowship supports students from non-traditional backgrounds, abroad, or perspectives not usually covered by traditional funding, whose research focuses on privacy, artificial intelligence, technology ethics, or robotics.
One fellowship of $25,000 (credited in three term installments), plus a $2,000 travel bursary, complimentary admission to a leading conference, and a guaranteed technology law internship. After applying to the LL.M. through OUAC, email a letter of intent and a research proposal (privacy, robotics, AI, or ethical technologies) to the Faculty of Law graduate studies office. Only students who have received an offer of admission by the March 31 deadline are eligible.
Friends and colleagues established the Ian R. Kerr Memorial Fund to honour Dr. Kerr's legacy in technology law, ethics, and policy.
