About this scholarship
High school and college students in the U.S. or Canada who have been impacted by Alzheimer's disease or related dementia may enter Hilarity for Charity's Humans of Dementia Storytelling Scholarship. Submit either a written profile (750 words max) or a photo or multimedia entry (up to three assets).
Twelve prizes of $1,500 are awarded across four categories: written and multimedia entries for both high school and college students.
Submissions should profile someone living with or affected by Alzheimer's or dementia, focusing on their story. Apply by May 1.

- Written profile, photo profile, or multimedia profile featuring someone living with or affected by Alzheimer's disease or related dementia
- Proof of enrollment
- Enrolled in high school or college in the U.S. or Canada
- Submission can be either a written profile (max 750 words) OR a photo/multimedia profile (max THREE photos/assets); applicants may submit one entry per category
- Profile must feature someone living with or who passed away from Alzheimer's disease or related dementia
- All written entries will be scanned for AI-detection — must be heartfelt, originally written profiles
- Submitted via Submittable; prizes of $1,500 each (3 high school + 3 college winners per category)
- Written profiles are limited to 750 words; photo or multimedia entries are limited to three assets.
- Applicants may submit one entry per category.
- Written entries are scanned for AI detection and must be original.
