Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship

The Horatio Alger Association awards 300 Career & Technical Scholarships of up to $2,500 each year to individuals with financial need who have overcome adversity and are pursuing career-focused training. Funds can be used for tuition, tools, supplies, and other program-related expenses.

Applicants must have completed high school (or an equivalency) by July 1; plan to attend a not-for-profit community college or trade/vocational school; enroll by September in an associate's degree, certificate, or diploma program that leads to employment (prerequisite-only coursework does not qualify); demonstrate financial need with household income of $100,000 or less; be under the age of 35; and be US citizens. The application is open March 15 through June 15, with rolling selection until all scholarships are awarded.
