About this scholarship
First-year students applying to Hope College are considered for academic scholarships, including the Distinguished Scholar Award, through the admission application. Awards are based on cumulative GPA, optional SAT, ACT, or CLT scores, and course rigor relative to what was available at the student's school. Hope is test-optional and grants the highest award a student qualifies for with or without scores.
The Distinguished Scholar Award is $12,000 per year for students who meet the published GPA and optional test-score thresholds. Each academic scholarship is guaranteed through the sophomore year and renewable for junior and senior years with a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Submit the Hope admission application and any updated academic information by February 1 of the senior year for best consideration. Optional test scores are superscored.
