About this scholarship

UBC Vancouver Faculty of Medicine research-stream graduate students, or research-stream graduate students supervised by Faculty of Medicine supervisors, researching disease pathogenesis in women or female models of disease may be considered. Preference is given to research on conditions that have historically received inadequate attention regarding sex and gender differences.

Variable awards are funded through a gift from an anonymous donor in honour of Holly Ewanyshyn.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.

Holly Ewanyshyn is a physiotherapist and lymphoma survivor whose experience highlighted disparities in healthcare for women. The donor established this fund to support research addressing those disparities.
