About this scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate students from historically underrepresented minorities in archaeology who are residents of the United States or Canada may apply for SAA Historically Underrecognized Student Archaeology Scholarships. Graduate applicants must be in their first or second year of study and must not already hold a master's degree.
Up to four awards of up to $3,000 each support summer archaeological training or research. Funds may cover tuition, travel, housing, food, books, supplies, equipment, or child care.
Submit an application form, two recommendations, personal and research statements, a proposed-study plan, and a budget to scholarships@saa.org by the deadline.
