About this scholarship
Students with at least second-semester freshman status at an accredited four-year historically Black college or university who are working toward a first bachelor's degree may apply. Applicants must have graduated from a Chicago metropolitan area high school with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must provide proof of HBCU enrollment before the award is granted.
Award amounts and the number of recipients vary each year.
Selection weighs academic achievement, extracurricular and community service involvement, essay quality, and recommendation letters. Submit a transcript, personal essay, two recommendations, and a media waiver through the Monarch Awards Foundation application.
