About this scholarship
U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled full time as undergraduates at accredited four-year U.S. colleges who have studied Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu, Wu Shu, or Tai Chi) for five or more years with a B average or better may apply for the Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation award.
The scholarship provides $3,000. Selection weighs martial arts achievement, academics, a personal essay, and community and school activities.
Family members of foundation trustees are ineligible. Submit the application by the posted deadline.

- Two recommendations, including one from your current/most recent Sifu attesting to your years of study and martial arts experience, and one from another appropriate person (such as a teacher or counse
- For entering Freshmen only: copy of college acceptance letter, plus rank and GPA information from a school official (Section 11)
- Optional Section 10: applicants may describe special life circumstances (e.g., financial hardship, personal loss) for the committee to consider
