About this scholarship
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees enrolled in (or applying to) a doctoral program at an eligible Canadian university may apply if their research builds knowledge on women's heart and/or brain health (heart conditions, stroke, and vascular cognitive impairment). Applicants need an identified research supervisor, at least 12 months remaining in the program, and no more than 36 months from the program start. In this award, women include cisgender and transgender women, and trans and non-binary people with shared health experiences.
The award provides stipend support for up to three years so recipients can pursue their research and engage with mentors. Heart & Stroke runs the competition to grow the number of researchers and clinician-scientists focused on women's heart and brain health.
