About this scholarship

Residents of Gratiot or Saginaw County, Michigan who are sophomores pursuing a degree or certification in trades, construction, manufacturing, or engineering with an interest in safety at a Michigan college, university, or licensed vocational school may apply for the Great Lakes Safety Training Center Scholarship.

Up to four awards of $1,500 are granted annually through partner community foundations in the Great Lakes Bay region. Applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Apply through the partner community foundation application and submit an essay on why you chose your field of study and how safety has impacted or can impact your life. The fund was established to support careers in the trades and construction with an emphasis on safety.
