About this scholarship
Great Minds in STEM awards merit-based scholarships of $500 to $5,000 and non-merit donor scholarships of $500 to $1,000 to students pursuing science, technology, engineering, math, or health-related degrees. Recipients also receive complimentary registration to the annual GMiS Conference. Applicants do not need to be Hispanic; the program is open to all STEM majors with strong campus or community service involvement.
Applicants must be enrolled in a STEM or health-related undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming fall at an accredited two-year or four-year institution in the U.S. or its territories, with a minimum 3.0 GPA for merit scholarships (2.5 for some donor scholarships). U.S. citizens, permanent residents, F-1 visa holders, and DACA recipients may apply, though some sponsors add citizenship requirements.
Applications open in early March and closed May 8 in the 2026 cycle; materials include a personal statement, resume, recommendations, and transcripts.
