About this scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing STEM or health-related degrees at accredited U.S. colleges or universities may apply for GMiS STEM Scholarships through Great Minds in STEM. Applicants should be of Hispanic descent and/or demonstrate significant leadership or service in underserved communities.
Merit-based awards range from $500 to $5,000; non-merit donor scholarships range from $500 to $1,000. Merit scholarships require a minimum 3.0 GPA; some donor scholarships accept a 2.5 GPA minimum.
Apply online with a personal statement on the designated topic, resume, one peer and one faculty letter of recommendation, official transcript, self-photo, and biographical sketch. Recipients must be enrolled full time or part time.

- One peer letter of recommendation (friend, classmate, or teammate)
- High-quality color professional headshot photo (300 dpi, 1MB+; no selfies/social media photos)
- Recipients must be enrolled full time or part time.
- Merit scholarships require a 3.0 GPA; some donor scholarships accept a 2.5 GPA minimum.
