About this scholarship
Outstanding second-, third-, or fourth-year students enrolled in an Engineering program in the Faculty of Applied Science at UBC Vancouver may be considered for the Glenn Gibson Memorial Award in Engineering. Preference goes to Mechanical Engineering students and to students who have overcome hardship or are experiencing significant adversity.
Awards totalling $2,000 are available annually through a gift from LMDG.
Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Applied Science.
The award honours Glenn Gibson (1959-2023), a founding member and leader at LMDG who thrived despite substantial medical challenges, including Parkinson's disease, and left a legacy of perseverance and commitment to excellence.
