About this scholarship
Gold Award Girl Scouts who are high school seniors or recent graduates may apply for the GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship for post-secondary education at any accredited institution.
Up to 112 recipients (one per Girl Scout council plus one from USA Girl Scouts Overseas) each receive $5,000. Recipients are featured in national Girl Scout promotions.
Local councils nominate finalists to GSUSA for final selection. Applicants must have earned the Gold Award by the specified date and completed a project demonstrating extraordinary leadership with measurable, sustainable impact. Apply by April 15.

What else to submit
- Each of the four questions may be answered in written format (500 words or fewer) OR video format (3 minutes or less); applicant chooses the format per question
- Must be a registered Girl Scout who earned the Gold Award
- Application program runs annually (2026 cycle closed; check back in 2027 for updated details)
- Local Girl Scout councils nominate finalists to GSUSA for final selection.
- Each of four project questions may be submitted as writing of 500 words or fewer or a video of three minutes or fewer.
