George and Iris Brown Scholarship in Medicine

Open to outstanding M.D. students from communities that have been historically, persistently, and systemically marginalized.

The scholarship amount varies. It is funded through a gift from George A. Brown and Iris Brown.

Recipients are chosen on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine. There is no separate application.

George Brown devoted his career to equal opportunity and human rights, including work at the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Iris taught mathematics, chemistry, and physics for thirty-eight years.
