About this scholarship
For a First Nations graduate student in a degree program at UBC's School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (Vancouver). Open to both domestic and international students registered full-time in the School.
A $7,600 scholarship.
Students may apply with a letter to the iSchool Director addressing the award criteria, including a short biography identifying their Aboriginal community and interests, or be nominated by the School's Education Services Coordinator and Graduate Advisor. The award is made on the recommendation of the School, in consultation with the First Nations House of Learning and the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
The scholarship was endowed in honour of Gene Joseph (MLS '82) by the British Columbia Library Association First Nations Interest Group and the University of British Columbia.
