Garreth Ewan Thomas Memorial Award in Mechanical Engineering

For a UBC Mechanical Engineering student enrolled in the Co-op Program who has demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and a strong interest in social responsibility and international development.

Awards are endowed by family, friends, and Peter Kiewit Sons Company in memory of Garreth Thomas. Award amounts vary.

There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Garreth Thomas was a youth counselor, teacher, musician, and sportsman who had planned to join Engineers Without Borders.
