About this scholarship
U.S. legal residents (including those on a student visa or resident aliens) enrolled full-time as high school seniors, or accepted or enrolled full- or part-time at an accredited U.S. college, university, or trade school, who are pursuing an automotive technician degree or certification may apply for Garage Gurus Automotive Technician Scholarships.
Twelve $2,500 awards are granted annually.
Applicants submit the application, most recent transcripts, two letters of recommendation from non-family members, and either an essay (1,000 word limit) or a video (3 minute limit) about themselves and their career goals.
Since launching in 2015, Garage Gurus reports supporting dozens of students with hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships.

- Submit most recent transcript of all academic work
- Submit two letters of recommendation from non-family members
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Pursuing an automotive technician degree or certification (or equivalent)
- Enrolled full-time at a U.S. high school OR accepted/enrolled (full-time or part-time) at an accredited U.S. college, university, or trade school
- Be a legal U.S. resident, in the U.S. on a student Visa, or a resident alien
- Complete the application form fully
- Video alternative to the essay: short video introducing yourself and career goals, 3 minute limit (submit upload or YouTube/Vimeo link)
