About this scholarship
Full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at an accredited North American college or university in architecture, civil or structural engineering, construction management, material science, or a related field may enter the AGA Galvanize the Future: A Richard L. Brooks Memorial Scholarship essay contest. High school students are not eligible.
Two $2,500 awards are granted annually. The contest was developed to assist future specifiers with the rising cost of college education.
Write and submit an original 1,000- to 2,000-word essay in English on a topic related to galvanizing or its application in your field. Winners are announced on the AGA website and funds are paid directly to the educational institution.

- Applicant chooses and answers ONE of the two prompts
- Essay must be at least 1,000 words and not exceed 2,000 words

- Complete personal/contact information and educational institution details (college, major, graduation date, degree type)
- Department contact information
- Open to full- or part-time undergraduate/graduate students in North America in architecture, civil/structural engineering, construction management, material science, or related fields
- One entry per student per year
- Two $2,500 scholarships awarded annually; deadline March 31, 2026
