About this scholarship
For Canadian citizens (permanent residence is not sufficient) who hold a bachelor's degree before the grant start date and wish to study or conduct research in the United States for one academic year (eight months). Dual U.S.-Canadian citizens and U.S. permanent residents are ineligible. Applicants who will already hold a Ph.D. when the award begins should apply to the Fulbright Scholar Program instead.
The fixed award is US$25,000 for the academic year. Grantees must secure an approved U.S. host affiliation and apply online through the Fulbright Canada / IIE portal.
Awards may support formal graduate enrolment at a U.S. university, research tied to a Canadian graduate degree, or independent research after a Canadian undergraduate or master's degree.
