About this scholarship
High school graduates in Boone, Lake, McHenry, or Kane counties, Illinois, who plan to major in environmental studies or natural science at an accredited college or university may apply for Friends of Moraine Hills State Park scholarships.
Two scholarships of $3,000 are awarded annually to students with at least a 3.0 GPA pursuing careers directly related to preserving the natural environment.
Submit the application with at least one recommendation, a 300 to 400 word essay on motivation and goals in environmental studies, and sealed official transcripts. Applications are accepted February 1 through April 30.
