About this scholarship
UBC Vancouver graduate students in the Resources, Environment and Sustainability (RES) program may be considered for this scholarship. Award amounts vary.
The awards recognize outstanding Master's and PhD thesis work. A faculty member nominates one student for each award following the student's oral defence, and awards are made on the recommendation of the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
The scholarships honour Freda Pagani, founder and director of UBC's Sustainability Office, who helped develop green building guidelines, an energy management program, the SEEDS program, and the C.K. Choi Building.
