About this scholarship

Students in the Department of Journalism may receive the Frank B. Walker Journalism Award, which recognizes excellence in writing. Two awards are made each year: one to a student completing first year, and one to a student completing second year.

The award amount varies. It was established in 1995 to honour Frank Walker (1916-1985), Editor-in-Chief of The Montréal Star from 1968 until the newspaper closed in 1979.
