Aspiring aviators ages 17 through 24 who are U.S. citizens and not currently enrolled in college or an aviation program may apply for the Fly For Duke scholarship from the Duke Carrillo Foundation.
One recipient receives $10,000 toward private pilot license training at an FAA-approved flight school, plus optional mentoring.
Applicants must complete private pilot ground school before flight training begins and obtain an FAA third-class medical certificate before training starts. Finalists participate in a short video interview. The application opens mid-November and closes February 25.
