About this scholarship
High school seniors admitted to Florida State University and the University Honors Program may be invited to apply for the Presidential Scholars Program, FSU's premier merit scholarship for students with extraordinary potential.
The cash award package totals $10,500 per year over four years, plus an out-of-state tuition waiver for non-residents and enrichment funding for study abroad, research, service-learning, and other high-impact experiences.
Selection follows the Honors supplemental application and interview process. The program is open to all disciplines and provides access to honors curricula and a community of critical, innovative thinkers.

- Be a first-time-in-college student accepted to Florida State and accepted to the Honors Program
- Semi-finalists submit two video responses (due February 22, 2026)
- Finalists attend an on-campus interview during Recruitment Weekend (March 27-28, 2026)
- Essay word count: 250-350 words (one response shared between the Honors Supplemental Application and the Presidential Scholars Application)
