About this scholarship

Florida high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a minimum 3.5 GPA planning to enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program may apply for Florida Engineering Society high school scholarships, funded by the Florida Engineering Foundation.

Six awards of $3,000 are granted.

Submit the application package online or to your local FES chapter representative by February 15. Applications are typically posted on the FES website by December 1 and must be submitted on a USB drive.

  • Completed Excel spreadsheet application including Form B course record and signed Certification Sheet
  • Certified high school transcript and college transcript if college classes were taken
  • Official IB, AICE, and AP exam results and ACT/SAT score reports
  • Submit application on a USB drive
  • Be a high school senior graduating from a Florida school (enrolled at least one semester)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) at time of application
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum SAT or ACT test score (thresholds on page two of application); actual scores weighted in scoring
  • Completed Excel spreadsheet application (submit in Excel, do NOT convert to PDF), including course record on Form B and a completed/signed Certification Sheet tab
  • Certified high school transcript (and college transcript if college classes taken)
  • PDF copies of official IB, AICE, & AP exam results (and ACT/SAT score reports)
  • Must intend to enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program and practice engineering after graduation
  • Semi-finalists must complete an interview (in person or by phone) with the local FES Chapter Scholarship Committee
  • Submit online via the FES High School Scholarship web form by the February 15 deadline
  • Semi-finalists must complete an in-person or phone interview with the local FES Chapter Scholarship Committee.
