About this scholarship
African American or Hispanic U.S. citizens who hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and plan to pursue a Ph.D. at a participating Florida university in the arts and sciences, business, engineering, health sciences, nursing, or visual and performing arts may apply. Currently enrolled doctoral students are not eligible.
Up to 50 fellowships are awarded annually. Each provides a stipend of up to $14,000 per year, renewable for up to three years, plus counseling and professional development support. Renewal depends on satisfactory progress toward the Ph.D.
Participating universities include FAMU, FAU, Florida Tech, FIU, FSU, UCF, UF, University of Miami, and USF. Apply online; materials are due by January 15 each year.
