About this scholarship

Former graduates of any Nebraska high school pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in education at a qualified Nebraska college or university may apply through the Lincoln Community Foundation. Applicants must have completed at least sophomore year with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Six awards of $2,000 are granted, renewable for one additional year with a maintained 3.0 GPA.

Submit via lcf.academicworks.com by 11:59 PM March 15 with transcripts, FAFSA Student Aid Index, two references, and a 250-word essay.

  • Graduate applicants: at least one reference from a college instructor/professor or current supervisor addressing academic potential and commitment to education

  • Apply through the Lincoln Community Foundation portal by 11:59 PM March 15.
  • Renewal for one additional year requires maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
