Open to First Nations, Inuit, or Metis students of Canada in the UBC Vancouver School of Social Work who demonstrate a commitment to culturally appropriate social work practice.
Award amounts vary. Family members endowed the awards in memory of Florence Clayden (1922-2006).
No separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Social Work and, for graduate students, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Florence (B.S.W., M.S.W. 1950) worked for Family Services of Greater Vancouver for most of her career, providing direct service to diverse individuals and families.
