First Nations Resource Development Scholarship

Canadian citizens who are Ontario residents and members of or connected to an Ontario First Nation community, enrolled full- or part-time in an eligible mining-related program (geology/earth science, geotechnical or geoenvironmental engineering, or environmental science), may apply.

This provincial award, administered at uOttawa, is valued at $1,250.

Apply via uoZone with documented proof of Indigenous identity per uOttawa policy by April 1.

Announced in the 2025 Ontario Budget, the scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers for First Nations students entering mining-related programs where industry has identified labour need.
