About this scholarship
Graduate students who want to study abroad can pursue funding through Rotary Foundation global grant scholarships sponsored by local Rotary clubs and districts in the United States. Scholars must study outside their home country in graduate-level coursework or research aligned with Rotary areas of focus, and clubs coordinate the international partnership required for a global grant.
Global grant scholarships can fund one to four years of study and may cover an entire degree program. Funding comes from district and club contributions matched by the Rotary Foundation World Fund; award size depends on the sponsoring club or district budget rather than a single national figure.
There is no central student application on rotary.org. Candidates contact a local Rotary club for eligibility requirements, sponsorship, and timeline. Admission to a full-time in-person graduate program or research placement is required before the grant application proceeds.
The Rotary Foundation invests in education and leadership worldwide. Global grants are one of its flagship tools for graduate study abroad alongside district scholarships and the separate Rotary Peace Fellowship track for peace and conflict studies.
