Princess Grace Awards

Emerging U.S.-based theater, dance, choreography, and film artists may be nominated for Princess Grace Awards unrestricted cash grants. Applicants must be nominated by an eligible academic institution, nonprofit theater or dance company, media arts center, or previous Princess Grace Award winner; self-nominations are not accepted.

Princess Grace Award winners receive an unrestricted $15,000 cash grant paid directly to the artist. A separate Playwriting Fellowship is administered by New Dramatists and uses a different application path.

Nominated artists complete a two-round process. Round 1 requires a nominator letter, artist statement, CV, and work sample by February 2. Invited finalists submit a full application by the Round 2 deadline. The 2026 cycle closed February 2; 2027 information will be posted in autumn.
