About this scholarship

Full-time University of Toronto graduate students registered with the School of Graduate Studies or enrolled in professional degrees such as law, medicine, or dentistry may apply for Junior Fellowship at Massey College. International students are eligible. The College selects resident and non-resident Junior Fellows for one-year terms, with re-election possible for up to four additional years and residency capped at three years total.

Junior Fellows join an interdisciplinary residential community with access to College facilities, programming, and self-governance opportunities. Resident fellows pay residence and meal fees; non-resident fellows pay an annual membership fee for facilities and selected meals. Need-based bursaries are available after admission, including a minimum $5,000 bursary for resident fellows and fee coverage for many non-resident fellows.

Apply online with a cover letter on what you will bring to the life of the College, a CV, evidence of U of T admission or continuing status, transcripts, and two referees. Referee forms are due May 7, 2026. Conditional offers may be extended to applicants awaiting a U of T graduate offer, with proof of enrollment requested in the spring.

Massey College has operated Junior Fellowships since the 1960s as a graduate community affiliated with the University of Toronto.
